To kick off its fiscal year 2018, Oracle has expanded the Oracle PartnerNetwork with a new specialization for cloud implementations.
Unveiled today, the Cloud Excellence Implementer (CEI) Program is designed to showcase Oracle partners that have cloud implementation practices. The CEI program will initially focus on Oracle's software-as-a-service portfolio, which Oracle said has seen strong growth in ERP, human capital management and customer experience cloud offerings.

"This program identifies and differentiates highly qualified partner firms that demonstrate ongoing cloud implementation expertise with successful track records," said Penny Philpot, group vice president of worldwide alliance and channels at Oracle, during the vendor's FY18 Global Partner Kickoff presentation.
Benefits of the CEI program include certification exam vouchers, the highest-priority promotion to customers on Oracle's Solutions Catalog and Cloud Marketplace, and eligibility for new product training workshops.

Oracle partners must have Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Gold-level member status or higher to join the CEI program, the vendor said. Other entry requirements include having a designated project manager and consultants at the cloud-service-module level that can deliver within a particular geography. Partners must also have completed a minimum number of successful Oracle cloud implementations within the 12 months, Oracle said.
"To be a CEI partner, you will need to invest in certified skills, ensure that the billable resources assigned to engagements are trained and, most importantly, have happy clients," said Joanne Olsen, executive vice president of Oracle global cloud services and support.
CEI program partners must maintain their status by continually meeting criteria ranging from weekly self-assessments for in-progress engagements to high customer satisfaction scores on a specific number of implementations each year, Oracle said.
"The announcement of the CEI program is just the tip of the evolution of our overall partner framework," Olsen said, adding that partners can expect more developments to come during this year's OpenWorld conference, held in San Francisco from Oct. 1 to 5.
Oracle also revealed it will open up the training content it uses for its internal sales teams to Oracle partners. Dubbed Immersion Training, training content will be available in July on the OPN Competency Center for all active partners, Philpot said. She noted that the Immersion Training is supplementary to Oracle partner specialization requirements.
